If you remember we left Britain in a state of ruin and with no clear indication of how we are get out of the mess that Gordon and others so thoughtfully got us into. George has come up with some wheezes for cutting back on public spending which are all right as far as they go. But the trouble is that, even if they went twice as far, they wouldn't go nearly far enough.
So what can we possibly do to put things right?
- We must stop importing virtually everything from China and friends. I mean, almost everything in my house was made in China, except my wife who was made in France, to the best of my knowledge.
- We must start exporting stuff to China and friends and to others currently importing goods from China.
